The Capital at The Bull Inn, Fernhill Heath, Worcester

It's always nice to check out a new venue and my port-of-call was the pub-come-fish-and-chip shop-come-top-notch-eatery The Bull in Fernhill Heath between Droitwich and Worcester. Now when I say 'new', of course I mean gig-wise - as this thoroughly pleasant hostelry was many years ago our regular after-match watering-hole when I turned out for Worcester Corinthians Cricket Club.

I was pretty impressed with the function room they've added since those salad days - and a pleasant treat, also, in the band on show tonight - none other than Droitwich trio The Capital - who've disbanded and reformed in recent years more often than all the other local bands put together!

But they're back again - and looks like this time they mean it. They've got a cracking new show - complete with quality lighting, a great PA and a slick set of real tasty covers to go with their own classics like Alive and Thirty Something. The three-piece of JT, Rooney and Chris look in fine shape and delivered a set of total quality entertainment which had the place completely rocking.

They're going to take a short time off in the New Year to work on some new material - but it's good to see the lads back again - and as bassist Rooney says... 'We're mates and we enjoy playing music together' - that's what we like hearing.
