Herefordshire Wheelers cyclist dies during training
A Herefordshire cyclist has died while training in Powys.
Gordon Butler, a member of the Hereford Wheelers club, was found next to the B4350 in Glasbury on Wednesday.
Police said they were called to the scene at about 12:50 BST after reports a man had come off his bike.
Mr Butler was airlifted to Heath Hospital in Cardiff, where he was later pronounced dead. A post-mortem examination is due to take place later, said police.
Tributes have been paid to Mr Butler on the Hereford Wheelers' website. The club described him as a popular and well-known figure on the local cycling circuit.
The club said Mr Butler raced regularly in the Herefordshire time trial series.
