Woman held over cyclist's death in Droitwich

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following the death of a cyclist from Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.

An 18-year-old BMX rider was airlifted to hospital after he was hit by a Kia Picanto on the A38 at Droitwich at 15:25 BST on Friday.

A police spokesman said he died the next day.

A woman in her 50s from Tenbury Wells was arrested at the scene and has since been released on police bail.

Police said the teenager was cycling along the pavement when the Picanto appeared to mount the path before colliding with him.
