Arrest after Redditch shooting

A man has been arrested by police investigating a shooting in Redditch in which a man was seriously injured.

The victim, in his 30s, was shot in his chest and arm after an argument near a snack bar on Nailsworth Road at about 11:50 BST on Saturday, officers said.

He was taken to hospital and is said to be in a serious but stable condition.

West Mercia Police said a local man was arrested at about 17:15 BST on Sunday and was being questioned by officers. Police have appealed for information.

Det Ch Insp Steve Tonks, in charge of the investigation, said shootings were "very unusual" in Redditch and added that this seemed to be an isolated incident.
