A rail crossing in Worcester described by Network Rail as a "crime hotspot" has been closed for a second time.

Network Rail said the Brickfields foot crossing between Astwood Road and Brickfields Park had become a magnet for anti-social behaviour.

A spokesman said there had been more than 100 incidents of trespassing, vandalism and objects being placed on the line since 2007.

"Closing it is the only sure-fire way to remove any safety risks," he added.

Network Rail said Worcestershire Council Council has granted another temporary closure of the path after it was closed for six months last year.
