Call for part-time fire crews in Herefordshire and Worcestershire

More part-time firefighters are needed in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Nine stations in Worcestershire and five in Herefordshire need retained firefighters, according to Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service.

The stations need to recruit between one and four people to provide additional cover.

The fire service said it was "not unusual" for them to be recruiting at so many stations as there is a regular turnover of retained fire fighters.

Retained fire fighters must live or work within five minutes of the fire station where they are based.

In Worcestershire the fire service are looking for people to serve in Redditch, Upton, Worcester, Tenbury, Bewdley, Stourport, Kidderminster, Pebworth and Broadway.

In Herefordshire they need to recruit in Ledbury, Whitchurch, Ross-on-Wye, Ewyas Harold and Peterchurch.
