Horse rescued after River Severn search

A horse had to be rescued from a river following an hour-long search.

A fisherman called for help at about 08:10 BST after he spotted the animal in difficulty in the River Severn near Severn Stoke, Worcestershire.

The horse, believed to be called Rollo, was found in a distressed state about a mile from his original location after a search involving firefighters.

Its owners and a vet later took care of the animal, which did not suffer any significant harm in Friday's incident.
