Man found dead in Worcester named by police

Police investigating the death of a 43-year-old man in the Ronkswood Hill area of Worcester have named him.

Druvis Ruiga's body was found just after 1100 GMT on 1 February.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said a man was arrested on 3 February in connection with the death of the Latvian national.

He added the man had been released on police bail while inquiries continued into Mr Ruiga's death which was being treated as "unexplained".

Police said it appeared Mr Ruiga had been sleeping rough in the area in the days leading up to his death.

Det Ch Insp Steve Eccleston said: "Police are very keen to speak with anybody in the area that may have seen a disturbance of some kind or a man fall or injure himself in some way sometime between 27 January and 1 February."

He added formal identification of Mr Ruiga's body took place on Tuesday and an inquest was set to be opened in due course.
