Crews called to fire at Alvechurch nursery

Firefighters have been called to a children's nursery in Worcestershire.

Crews were alerted to the incident in Redditch Road, Alvechurch, at about 2320 BST on Wednesday and the fire was under control before 0130 BST.

They found a fire in a wooden porch at the back of a building had spread into the roof space.

Damage to the property was kept to a minimum, the fire service said. The cause was being investigated. Nobody was in the building at the time.
