Francis Benali's 1,000-mile Premier League stadium challenge

A former professional footballer is aiming to raise up to £1m for charity by running 1,000 miles (1,600km) in just more than three weeks.

Francis Benali made his name in the Southampton defence of the 1990s but is now preparing to to push his body to the limit to raise funds for Cancer Research.

Starting at St James' Park in Newcastle, he plans to run to every Premier League stadium in the country, finishing at Southampton's St Mary's Stadium on 13 September.
