Woman charged over 'acid attack' on Isle of Wight

A woman has been charged in connection with a suspected acid attack that left a 22-year-old with serious burns.

The attack happened in Sandown, Isle of Wight, on Wednesday and left a woman with "life-changing" facial injuries.

Sau Lin-Hin, 48, of Mulberry Way, Ryde, is charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and is due before Isle of Wight magistrates on Friday.

A 24-year-old woman, held on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been bailed until next week.

The 22-year-old woman from Sandown remains in a specialist burns unit, where she is undergoing treatment for serious facial burns, believed to have been caused by a corrosive liquid.
