Girl sexually assaulted on way home from Southampton party

A teenage girl has been attacked and sexually assaulted while walking home from a party in Southampton.

The 17-year-old was walking along South East Road in Sholing on Sunday when she was grabbed by a man, forced into a wooded area and attacked.

Police are looking for a man aged about 40, between 5ft 7in and 5ft 9in tall and with short blond hair. He wore a blue T-shirt, jeans and a black jacket.

The girl managed to break away and made her way home.

Anyone who saw the man, or heard shouting on South Park Road, near its junction with Sunvale, at about 05:00 BST, have been urged to contact police.
