Southampton churchyard sex attack: Man arrested
A 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbing then raping another man in a Southampton churchyard.
A 19-year-old man was attacked in St Mary's churchyard, off St Mary's Street, in the early hours of Saturday.
Before the assault he had allegedly been robbed by the same man while using a cash machine at a nearby Tesco.
Hampshire Constabulary said the arrested man, from Southampton, had been bailed until 14 May.
Detectives said they were investigating CCTV images.
Det Insp Dave Jackson said he wanted to hear from anyone who was in the St Mary's Street area at about 03:00 GMT and may have seen an altercation near the cash machine.
He said he also wanted to talk to anyone who had seen a group of men in the churchyard between 02:45 GMT and 03:30 GMT who may have "vital information".
