Kevin Wyeth death: Cage fighter on trial for murder

A martial arts cage fighter has gone on trial accused of beating a man to death in an alleyway in Southampton.

Father-of-three Kevin Wyeth, 31, was beaten unconscious and later died from his injuries.

Winchester Crown Court heard that Damon Wright, who competed in cage fighting, attacked Mr Wyeth, who was his girlfriend's former partner.

Damon Wright, 32, of Pine Vale Crescent, Bournemouth, Dorset, denies murder.

Mr Wyeth was found off Defender Road in Woolston in the early hours of 24 August last year. He died at the scene.

Post-mortem tests showed his death was caused by head, facial and neck injuries.
