A teenager has died after being hit by a lorry on the A30 in Hampshire.

Jack Brown, 15, from Frimley in Surrey, was struck by the white Volvo lorry at Hartford Bridge, Hartley Wintney, on Monday afternoon.

He was taken to Frimley Park Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. No other vehicles were involved.

Hampshire Constabulary said part of the A30 was closed for about three hours for investigations. The occupants of the lorry were left shaken.

In a statement, Hampshire Constabulary said the two men, aged in their 30s, were being treated as witnesses.

Jack was a pupil at Tomlinscote School, Frimley.

Principal Ian Hylan said his death was "deeply upsetting".

"Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this most difficult of times.

"The school community has been told of this sad news and support is being provided to students and staff," he added.
