Family of crash death man pay tribute to 'gentleman'

The family of a van driver killed in a crash with a car in Hampshire have paid tribute to him as a "true friend and gentleman".

John Porter was driving a white Ford Escort van which was in a crash with an A-Class Mercedes at Larks Barrow Hill in Whitchurch on 6 February.

The crash happened just after 06:20 GMT. Mr Porter died at the scene.

The 64-year-old's family said he would be "greatly missed" by everyone who knew him.

Two of the four of the men travelling in the Mercedes were taken to hospital with injuries which police described at the time as life-threatening.

Hampshire police have asked for anyone who saw the vehicles before the crash to contact them.
