Boarhunt Mitsubishi car crash victims named

Two men in their 20s who died when their Mitsubishi car crashed on a rural road in Hampshire have been named.

Thomas Emery, 24, and Dean Paling, 23, were travelling westbound on the B2177 Southwick Road towards Staplecross at Boarhunt on Monday.

Their Mitsubishi Lancer came off the road at about 23:00 GMT.

Mr Emery, from West End, Southampton was driving the car with his passenger Mr Paling, from Botley. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement, Mr Emery's family said: "We are totally devastated by our loss.

"Tom was loved by everyone. It is difficult to come to terms with this at this time and we would like to thank everyone for their support."

Mr Paling mother Carol added: "It was overwhelming to see the hundreds of his friends who turned out to pay tribute to my son.

"On behalf of my family and myself, a big thank you to all his friends who showed their support for him."

Police are continuing to investigate the collision.
