Protests at Hampshire care homes decision

22 November 2013 Last updated at 20:40 GMT

Relatives of elderly people in three Hampshire care homes have been protesting outside a council meeting called to discuss their fate.

The county council claims the homes in Basingstoke, Romsey and Petersfield are no longer fit for purpose and would cost more than £10m to modernise.

Its scrutiny committee voted in favour of the plans which will go before the full council in December.

Many of the protestors said they were concerned about the impact the closures would have on their relatives.
