Construction begins on Network Rail centre

Construction on a new rail operations hub has begun at a disused car park in Basingstoke.

Network Rail said the new centre would bring 500 jobs to the area.

It is one of three centres being built in the South, with others at Didcot, Oxfordshire, and Three Bridges, West Sussex.
