Southern England graduates still struggle to find jobs

3 September 2013 Last updated at 16:56 BST

A quarter of graduates in the South of England who left university last year were unable to find professional employment within six months, a survey has found.

The 2011/12 Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) Destinations of Leavers survey also found many were having to work in less well paid jobs in shops and bars.

Graduates are being urged to gain valuable skills through voluntary work to make themselves more appealing to employers.
