Microlight crash-lands at Isle of Wight airfield

A microlight aircraft has crashed after losing control while landing on the Isle of Wight.

The aircraft veered off the runway of the airfield near Shanklin and went towards a hangar, where it struck a tank of flammable chemicals.

Police said the two men on board were taken to hospital with minor injuries. Fire crews were also called.

Air accident investigators have been informed and they allowed the aircraft to be removed from the crash site.
