Missing murderer Daniel Rosenthal returned to hospital

A convicted murderer who went missing from a hospital in Hampshire has been found.

Daniel Rosenthal, 58, disappeared at about 14:30 BST on Saturday during an unsupervised walk around the gardens of Tatchbury Mount Hospital, Totton.

Hampshire Constabulary said he had been located in Southampton at about 11:00 and returned to the mental health unit.

They had warned people that he was "potentially dangerous".

Rosenthal, who has paranoid schizophrenia, received a life sentence in July 1982 for the murder of his mother in Hedge End.

He was also accused of murdering his father in Paris.

Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust was unavailable for comment.
