Tourism chiefs claim Isle of Wight visitor boost

Tourism chiefs on the Isle of Wight say there's been a significant increase in advance bookings as holidaymakers flock to the beaches and other attractions.

Traders are keen to make up for poor seasons in previous years.

The first privately run visitor helpdesk has also opened, two years after the council closed its Tourist Information Centres.
