Car crashes into fish and chip shop in Four Marks

Fish and chip shop crash Witnesses said the car was parking at the parade of shops before the crash

A car has crashed into a fish and chip shop in Hampshire.

The vehicle struck the front of the Tall Ship takeaway on Oak Green in Four Marks shortly before 11:00 BST.

Witnesses reported seeing the car pull into a parking space at the parade of shops before it crashed into the premises.

A man and a woman were released from the vehicle but were uninjured. The owner said there was no-one in the front of the shop at the time.

Owner David Bazley said the impact had "destroyed the shop front".

"At least no-one was hurt. It could have been much worse if we'd been open and customers had been there."

He added that the shop was likely to be shut for several weeks while repairs are carried out.
