Fair Oak collision: Motorcyclist, 24, dies

A 24-year-old motorcyclist has died in a collision with a car at a crossroads in Hampshire.

The accident happened shortly before 15:00 BST near the village of Fair Oak.

South Central Ambulance Service said the motorcycle also hit a tree. Hampshire Constabulary described the man's injuries as "unsurvivable".

He was pronounced dead at the scene and has not been formally identified. Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

A spokesman said: "The man was riding his Honda Firestorm motorcycle along Botley Road towards Winchester and Bishop's Waltham.

"It was in collision with a red Skoda Fabia car which was coming from Botley Road to turn right towards Eastleigh when the collision occurred at the crossroads of Eastleigh Road, Stubbington Way and Botley Road."
