Peppa Pig World hacked Facebook page removed
A web page for a theme park based on a popular children's cartoon character has been removed from the internet after it was hacked.
The Facebook profile for Peppa Pig World at Paultons Family Theme Park in Hampshire, was removed on Wednesday.
Random links, spam emails and pictures posted on the page had sparked hundreds of angry responses from parents.
The park thanked the public for their support, saying the page would be offline while the posts were removed.
A statement on the Paultons Family Theme Park Facebook page added: "We are pleased to report that ownership of the Peppa Pig World Facebook fan page has now been reinstated back to us."
Peppa Pig World has rides and play areas based on the hit children's television show, which is shown in about 180 different countries.
Its Facebook fan page was "liked" by more than 137,000 people prior to it being hacked.
