Fleet head teacher sex offence charges

The head teacher of a Hampshire school has been charged with sexual offences involving a boy.

Andrew Howard, 45, of Chineham, Basingstoke, faces two charges of sexual activity with a boy under 16.

In a letter to parents at Velmead Junior School, Fleet, the county council said he had been suspended.

Police said the offences do not relate to any child at the school. Mr Howard was bailed to appear before Basingstoke magistrates on 30 April.
