Southampton man Alan Arthur dies after assault

A man has died after he was assaulted in a Southampton tower block.

Alan Arthur, 56, from Southampton, was found lying unconscious and injured in a corridor at Copenhagen Towers, International Way, in Weston.

He was taken to hospital where he later died. A post-mortem examination revealed he died from a head injury.

Stanley Morris, 49, of Copenhagen Towers, has been charged with assault in connection to the man's death on Saturday.

He appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court and was released on conditional bail until 1 May.

Two other men aged 27 and 61, and a 43-year-old woman were also arrested in connection with the incident and have been bailed until July pending further inquiries.
