Southampton Solent University lecturer cocaine arrest

A senior lecturer at a Hampshire university has been arrested on suspicion of supplying cocaine, the BBC understands.

Southampton Solent university confirmed Kristine Lord, 64, was suspended "pending the outcome of police inquiries" and its own investigations.

The lecturer in business strategy was arrested alongside four men after police executed a warrant at an address in Southcliff Road, Southampton.

Ms Lord will answer bail on 1 February.

One of the arrested men has been charged with possessing cocaine with intent to supply and is bailed to appear at Southampton Crown Court on 18 February.
