Totton man charged with attempted armed robbery

A man has been charged with an attempted armed robbery at a Hampshire convenience store.

Keith Laidler, 36, from Bramtoco Way, Totton, appeared before Southampton Magistrates in connection with an incident on 21 October.

Magistrates heard a man carrying what appeared to be a firearm entered McColls in Longstock Crescent.

Mr Laidler was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Southampton Crown Court on 21 January.
