Jamie Dack murder inquiry: Friend 'heartbroken' over death

A friend of a man found burned in an industrial bin in Southampton said he has been left "heartbroken".

The body of Jamie Dack, 22, was found on Sunday after fire crews were called to the Empress Road Industrial Estate.

Mr Dack's friend Dean Hiscott said: "Jamie was a nice lad, he never bothered anyone, and he was such a bubbly and nice person."

Detectives have been given more time to question four people over the murder of Mr Dack, from Millbrook Road West.

Magistrates granted an extension until midnight to continue questioning three men, aged 31, 28 and 25, and a woman aged 20.

Mr Hiscott added: "I just think it's really tragic that someone has done this to him.

"Jamie wouldn't hurt a fly. I hope that people realise that he was such a nice lad and he wouldn't hurt anyone."

Police believe Mr Dack's body may have been moved from another location.

Det Insp Simon Baker appealed for anyone who may have seen a wheelie bin being pushed for some distance in the area of Bevois Mews and Earls Road to contact the force.
