Bursledon three-year-old girl struck by motorcycle in Hampshire dies

A three-year-old girl from Hampshire has died after being hit by a motorcycle on Thursday evening as she crossed a road with her family.

The child was taken to hospital following the collision in Hamble Lane, Bursledon, at about 19:00 GMT but she has since died, police said.

The motorcyclist, a 38-year-old man from Eastleigh, was uninjured.

Witnesses to the crash, which occurred between Pound Lane and Portsmouth Road, are asked to contact police.

The road was closed at Portsmouth Road and Pound Lane while investigators examined the scene. It was reopened at 01:00.
