Gosport to Fareham bus route 'will ease traffic'

A £20m bus route linking Fareham and Gosport may only encourage a fraction of drivers from their cars, according to the councillor in charge of the project.

Hampshire County Council believes the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) link will still ease congestion, attract new business and improve quality of life for residents.

Environment and transport chief, Councillor Mel Kendal said the authority could not be "too ambitious" about its benefits.

The route is due to open next April.
