Firefighters have been tackling a large blaze at three shops in Hampshire.

About 30 firefighters in six fire engines were sent to the fire in Lavender Road, Waterlooville, at about 02:00 BST.

The fire has destroyed a Tesco Express, a pharmacy and badly damaged a Chinese takeaway.

An aerial ladder, four breathing apparatus sets and the special equipment unit were used to put out the fire.

It is the second time a Tesco store has been damaged by fire in the area in just over a year. The last fire was found to be arson.

Hampshire Police are appealing for witnesses following the fire, which they are treating as suspicious.
