Snow leopard cubs emerge

Help

Three snow leopard cubs have emerged into the outdoors for the first time at a Hampshire zoo.

The cubs have been kept inside a den with their mother, Irina, at Marwell Wildlife near Winchester since their birth 12 weeks ago.

They have now been vaccinated to make it safe for them to take their first steps outside.

The zoo is part of the ongoing European endangered species breeding programme for snow leopards, which are native to high mountain ranges of south and central Asia.

Carnivore Keeper Marc Fox described the three cubs.
