Teenager jailed for starting Waterlooville Tesco fire
A 19-year-old man has been jailed for 16 months for starting a fire which destroyed a Tesco store in Hampshire.
The manager evacuated the Tesco Express store at the Westbrook Centre in Grassmere Way, Waterlooville, when the fire started on the evening of 7 July.
Daniel Eastley, from Leigh Park, in Havant, admitted setting light to bread crates at the back of the store.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of arson at Portsmouth Crown Court on 20 July.
A 37-year-old man who worked at the store suffered minor burns in the incident.
It was the third fire at the premises in the past 10 years.
Police said the fire could have been deadly.
