Coleford murder accused Edward Belson, 36, appears before magistrates

A 36-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murder following the death of a man from the Forest of Dean.

Edward Belson was arrested on Sunday after Christopher Cooling, 44, was found injured at his home in Hillcrest Road earlier in the day.

Mr Cooling was taken to hospital but died later.

Mr Belson, of Berry Hill, Coleford, appeared before Cheltenham magistrates and was remanded in custody to appear at Bristol Crown Court on Friday.

Mr Cooling's family said he was a "much loved son, father and brother and will be sadly missed by us all".

Gloucestershire Police is continuing to appeal for witnesses for anyone who was in the area between 18:00 and 22:00 BST on Sunday.
