Man arrested on suspicion of Forest of Dean murder

Police cordon in Berry Hill Police have cordoned off an area of Berry Hill around Hillcrest Road and Aston Close to allow an investigation to take place

A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a man in the Forest of Dean.

Gloucestershire Police said they were called to the Hillcrest Road and Aston Close area of Berry Hill near Coleford at about 20:30 BST on Sunday.

A 44-year-old man was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where he later died, a spokesman said.

An area of Berry Hill has been cordoned off while a police investigation takes place.

Det Ch Insp Steve Porter, said: "A 36-year-old local man has been arrested in relation to this incident.

"Police and scenes of crime officers remain at the scene whilst extensive inquiries are carried out."
