Sharon Wall murder: Gloucester hospital accused in court

A man who allegedly stabbed to death a member of staff at a mental health hospital has appeared in court.

Ryan Mathews, 61, is accused of murdering Sharon Wall, 53, who was a healthcare assistant at the Wotton Lawn Hospital in Gloucester.

He appeared via a video link from HMP Hewell in Worcestershire and was remanded to appear at Gloucester Crown Court on 20 November.

Gloucester Crown Court heard a trial could possibly be held in January.

Ms Wall, who lived in the Tuffley area of the city, was stabbed on Wednesday 9 July at the inpatient unit of the hospital.
