Forest of Dean boy, 7, hit by car while riding bike

A seven-year-old boy who was hit by a car while riding his bicycle is in hospital with serious head injuries.

The boy was airlifted to hospital after the collision in the Forest of Dean on Wednesday evening.

He was cycling on North Road, Broadwell, when hit by a black Ford Focus being driven by a local woman, Gloucestershire Police said.

A force spokesman said the boy remained in a serious condition and witnesses were being urged to come forward.
