Cheltenham assault victim Kayleigh Palmer, 16, dies in hospital

A teenage girl who was assaulted in Cheltenham three days ago has died in hospital, police have confirmed.

Kayleigh Palmer, 16, was found severely injured at a house in Humber Road by emergency services on Wednesday.

She was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, and was in an induced coma but died at 11:00 BST on Saturday.

Her boyfriend Aston Robinson, 18, of Humber Road, Cheltenham, was charged on Friday with attempted murder and remanded in custody.

The 18-year-old, who did not enter a plea, is due to appear at Gloucester Crown Court on 9 May.
