Man dies after being hit by car on A435 near Rendcomb

One man was killed and another was injured when they were struck by a car in Gloucestershire.

The accident happened on the A435 Cheltenham Road near Rendcomb at about 19:40 GMT on Friday.

The man, 43, from Rendcomb was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man, 31, suffered leg and head injuries and is said to be in a stable condition in Frenchay Hospital, near Bristol.

Police said the car was driven by a 64-year-old man from South Cerney.

Officers are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them.
