Worcester man dies in M5 crash in Gloucestershire

A man has died in a car crash on the M5 in Gloucestershire.

The driver, aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene and the motorway was closed between junctions 9 and 11.

Gloucestershire Police said the victim, from Worcester, had to be cut free from his Vauxhall Vectra by firefighters.

The road was closed for a number of hours while police conducted an investigation but has since reopened.

Jon Lynch Warden, force incident manager, said no other vehicles were believed to have been involved in the crash, which happened close to junction 10 at 07:25 GMT.
