Gloucester and Swindon railway line blocked by fallen tree

Train services between Gloucester and Swindon were disrupted by a tree that had fallen across a railway track.

First Great Western (FGW) said the incident happened at about 18:30 BST on Wednesday as one of its trains was in operation. Nobody was injured.

Services in both directions were affected, with coaches and taxis laid on to help passengers, but have since returned to normal.

Network Rail engineers attended the scene to remove the fallen tree.
