Gloucester man arrested over badger cull 'assault'

The man, aged 38 and from the Gloucester area, was held near Tirley in the cull zone on Thursday evening.

Gloucestershire Police would not confirm what involvement the arrested man had in the badger cull saying they "do not identify groups".

The badger cull in Gloucestershire and Somerset aims to kill 5,000 badgers in a bid to control TB.

Defra has not confirmed how many of the animals have been killed so far by marksmen.

The force added that the alleged assault followed a disagreement, and no-one was seriously injured in the incident.
