Man arrested in Gloucester Park murder probe

A sixth person has been arrested in the investigation into the death of man in Gloucester.

Neil Bennett, 50, was found with fatal stab wounds near Gloucester Park on 27 July.

Three men and a woman have been charged with his murder and are due to appear at Bristol Crown Court on Friday.

Gloucestershire Police said a 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and was released on bail.

Ricky Lee James, 33, and Lucy Dowdall 19, both of Spa Villas, Peter Horn, 29, of Denmark Road and Tyler Johnson, 25, of no fixed address were remanded in custody following the murder charge.

Another man, aged 38, arrested on suspicion of murder, has been bailed to attend Gloucester police in September.

The incident happened hours after hundreds of people had filled the city's park for the annual carnival and procession.
