Cheltenham A40 sewer works and road repairs begin

Drivers in Cheltenham are facing disruption along a busy main road as sewer and road repairs get under way.

Severn Trent Water is working with Gloucestershire County Council to co-ordinate the repair work along parts of A40 thoughout August.

Once the sewer works are completed the road will be re-surfaced. Diversions have been put in place.

People who live in the affected areas will still be able to get to and from their homes the council has said.

For the next two Sundays the A40 area of Cheltenham, between Gloucester Road to St George's Road and Queens Road to the Railway Station car park, will be closed off.

There will also be disruption between Libertus Road and Roman Road while sewer repairs are carried out from Monday, 5 August.

Once Severn Trent has completed its work, Gloucestershire Highways will resurface the same stretch from 19 to 23 August.
