Dead teenage motorcyclist found on A48 verge

The body of a teenage motorcyclist has been found at the side of the A48 in Gloucestershire.

The 18-year-old was discovered by a passing motorist on a verge near Awre, Blakeney, shortly before 19:00 BST on Saturday.

His red Yamaha YZFR6 motorbike was found nearby.

Police said it was not yet known how long his body had been there. He has not yet been named but his next of kin and the coroner have been informed.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
