Women and children hurt in Gloucester M5 motorway crash

Two women and two children are being treated in hospital after a crash on the M5 near Gloucester.

Two cars were involved in a collision on the southbound carriageway, with one ending up on its roof.

Gloucestershire Police said the victims were taken to Bristol's Frenchay Hospital. Their injuries are not described as life-threatening.

An investigation is under way into the cause of the crash, which happened just before 09:00 BST on Saturday.

Following the crash, two lanes of the southbound motorway were shut while emergency teams helped the casualties and cleared the debris.
