Gloucestershire sex attacks: £5,000 reward offered

Detectives investigating three sex assaults in Gloucestershire are offering a £5,000 reward for information which leads to conviction.

A reconstruction of the three attacks will be featured on BBC One's Crimewatch at 21:00 BST.

Det Ch Insp Alastair Stenner said he hoped the reward and TV appeal would encourage people to come forward.

Although the crimes are not being formally linked, police believe there are similarities between the attacks.

'Extremely traumatic'

The incidents took place in the Hester's Way area of Cheltenham on 30 November; at Innsworth on 19 January and in the Coney Hill area of Gloucester on 2 May.

Mr Stenner said the incidents had been "extremely traumatic" for the victims and the person or people responsible "needs to be caught before they attack someone else".

"I still believe somebody somewhere knows who did this and I hope they may be encouraged, perhaps by the reward, to come forward and help us.

"The appeal might also jog people's memories and something that had not seemed relevant until now might suddenly seem so after seeing the television appeal," he added.

Two men from the Gloucester area have been arrested during the course of the investigation and remain on police bail.

The reward money has been put up by the charity Crimestoppers.
